Helping others less fortunate

In the weeks leading up to Christmas, the wider AKS community gave very generously to our Cash for Kids Mission appeal for toys . We had over 100 toys donated which then got delivered to the Cash for Kids Mission Christmas warehouse.

On Monday  16th December ten AKS Action students visited the Cash for Kids Mission Christmas warehouse. They spent their day sorting items into present bundles.

Local families in need then received a present bundle for children on Christmas Eve

Edward of 8R describes his experience:

“I got involved with AKS Action because I wanted to help people who are not as fortunate as me. Christmas can be a very happy time but also very challenging in many ways.

There are 1 in 4 children who live in poverty in Lancashire. Due to unforeseen circumstances or no fault of their own those less fortune should still have an opportunity enjoy Christmas.

I was busy all day but I really enjoyed working with my friends and supporting the key workers of the organisation.

I held a thought for those people I helped on Christmas Day, and wished them a Merry Christmas.’

A sincere thank you to all of the AKS community who so generously helped support Cash for Kids Mission Christmas appeal.
